My name is Mary Lott (she/her/hers), and I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC). I am so grateful to be part of the Eagle Therapist Collective. A bit about me.
I am a dedicated and compassionate counselor with a strong background in trauma-focused therapy. Prior to my career in counseling, I was driven by my initial interest in the field of business and obtained a Masters of Business (MBA) from Boise State University. However, my path quickly shifted after attending a workshop on human suffering. My heart immediately felt drawn to sit beside and be present with those who are in emotional and spiritual pain.
In 2016, I graduated from Northwest Nazarene University with a Masters of Science in Counseling. Early in my career, I served as a school counselor at an alternative middle school, where I provided mental health support to students and advocated for their needs within the school, home, and community. During this time, I conducted individual and group therapy sessions that were sensitive to diverse socio-economic, ethnic/cultural, religious, and sexual orientation populations. These kids taught me the importance of being present, inspiring me to further develop mindfulness meditation practices, something I utilize daily in my personal and professional life.
I then transitioned into working directly with youth and families involved in the criminal justice system. I worked with individuals who were surviving significant trauma, including poverty, physical, emotional, and sexual abuse, suicide ideation, and countless other adversities. To provide the most effective trauma-focused therapy, I became trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and began incorporating this powerful therapeutic modality. Working closely with these individuals and their families, I provided counseling centered on individual, family, and group dynamics. I also gained expertise in completing court-ordered mental health assessments, drug and alcohol assessments, and making treatment recommendations and referrals based on individual needs.
I also enjoy working with adults and have helped many clients work through childhood trauma, low self-esteem and negative thought patterns, life transitions, as well as parenting and relationship difficulties. When adults step into counseling, I admire their drive and willingness to make change. By providing a safe space, support, and understanding, I have witnessed restorative healing and transformation.
My areas of focus include:
- Adults with a history of trauma or suffer from depression, anxiety, grief, PTSD, self esteem, life transitions, and/or stress.
- Adolescents (13+) who struggle with emotional regulation, self esteem, suicidal ideation/self harm, effective social skills, peer relationship, and/or healthy boundaries.
- Diverse populations
- Those looking to enhance their spirituality, achieve healing, resilience, and/or personal growth.
I believe in the power of personalized, targeted, and integrative care, while using evidenced-based practices, and I am passionate about helping individuals heal from trauma and overcome adversity. I look forward to connecting with you or your loved ones.
With kindness,
Mary Lott, LCPC
